United for Transforming Lives

At Circle Urban Ministries, located in the Austin Community on Chicago's West Side, we are seeking to equip young people academically, socially, and spiritually to become leaders, agents of positive change within the community and throughout the world.

We believe that mentoring is a key strategy for ensuring the success of the students we serve.

Our mission for our Mentoring Program is to link students and alumni with role models that will build-up, equip, challenge, and encourage each student for lives of hope and purpose.

Since launching in 2003, Circle's Mentoring Program has served 4th-12th grade students through our two program components:

One-to-One Mentoring Initiative:

One adult is matched with one student to build a friendship that will serve to build the student up, expose him or her to new experiences and opportunities, and encourage him or her to live a life of purpose. Just one hour a week for one year can make a lifetime of difference!

Alumni Follow-Through Encouraging Resolve (AFTER):

Alumni Follow-Through Encouraging Resolve (AFTER) links one adult with one Circle-Rock graduate during the student's high school years. Mentors serve as encouragers, advocates, and allies to help alumni successfully navigate their high school careers in preparation for entrance into college.
